Marlys currently works as the Senior Projects Director at Campaign Headquarters, a public policy and fundraising organization located in Brooklyn, IA. Previously Marlys served twice as the Executive Director for the Republican Party of Iowa, has held numerous state and national roles with presidential candidates and was the founding chair and president of Iowa Right to Life from 1988-1992 and founding executive director of the Iowa Family Policy Center, now known as the Family Leader.
She currently serves on the board of Iowa Right to Life. After experiencing a crisis pregnancy, Marlys reached out, speaking to high school students about the importance of abstinence, and then began developing grassroots pro-life organizations across the northern part of Iowa. Marlys has spoken at Pregnancy Care Center Banquets, Youth Retreats, and Pro-life Conventions from New York State to Texas and many states in between. Her passion for the unborn is demonstrated in her motivational attitude and desire to make a difference. She has a teaching degree and enjoys meeting and working with people and fostering and nurturing relationships. In her free time she enjoys fishing, traveling with her husband and spending as much time as possible with her three grown children and seven grandchildren.
Interesting Fact: At their birth, Marlys served as the national spokesperson for the McCaughey septuplets.
